Me dad was leaving when buttler got out, changed his mind, put his shoes on and was leaving again at the next wicket, then sat in the kitchen with me mam until the final over, then came back and sat with me and my son to watch the super overs.

I've been round and apologised to the neighbours for the shouting from him when we won

Called my Da right after the super over, both half speechless, half garbled. Went to the game against Windies at Southampton, was class. Fantastic way to finish this tournament.

Stu Rayner writes in the chron (as we have here) that 3 of the team were produced by Durham but he also adds that 3 were produced by Yorkshire.

So, more than half of the team were from the North. More than half of the team were from two counties. No other county produced more than 1 players.

Maks ye think like.

Plus Latham and Taylor durham with Williamson Yorkshire as players

That's true up to a point, that opening batsmen should have walked, he knew he'd nicked it.

To be fair, with the review system, the ethos on walking has changed. Might have been a no ball for e.g? It was also a very thin knick (the snicko was pretty flat on it but did shown he got a bit of it) so maybe he wasn't sure?

If he knew for sure he would not have reviewed it as it throws away the review down the line.

Same as the Womens football team. Its standard.

It was a bit lively watching the last few overs in The Sticky Wicket at the Riverside with a load of Worcestershire and Durham fans cheering every run.:D

Rather surreally ended up watching the Super Over with three of The Trapdoor Barmy Army in an empty ground, on a laptop with 6% battery life left and a two minute stream delay ( so we heard the roar from the dressing rooms and the pub in advance!! ) but couldnt be happier.

Have sat through every ball of the defeats in the 1979,1987 and 1992 finals and never thought I would ever get to see this day.

Well done England!:D:D

If you live in england, you are english for me always have seen it that way, if they have lived here, and married here and had kids here, they are dual nationality they are english/british, all of our blood lines come from all around the world, everyone of us if we go back far enough, he and archer, are englishmen today, and forever more:cool:

so if i went to live in holland i'd be dutch? i guess it's how you identify, not something that bothers us in the slightest tbf.

yep because we had more attacking intent. The kiwis ducked out of the last ball. We didn't. If they don't duck out of the last ball of their innings with nothing riding on it they could have stolen the run that would win them the game.

Not sure why you'd pick on that one moment as being decisive.

It was a game of fine margins, any one of which could have decided the outcome.

How many additional runs did Roy score after he was wrongly given not out?

You could just as easily argue that that cost them the game.

Good day for Durham. Win this game and the impossible dream of promotion after losing the first 4 games is on.

I see what you are saying mate, Its very fine margins though. They scored the same number of runs as we did today, 256 while losing 9 wickets. We scored 256 and lost 10 yet we win?
I see what you mean but that's the rules. Federer won more games today but Djokovic is the Wimbledon champion.

Could Ben and woody be in the ground for the first T20 next Friday?

Colly brought the t20 cup home, hopefully Ben and wood will

I was just highlighting the differing approaches. Granted England's final ball had more riding on it than the Kiwi's but ducking out of the final ball was a bit odd. I'd like to think Stokes would have made an attempt.

You know, this might not be popular, but I feel really uncomfortable with the manner of victory.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m delighted our name is on the trophy, it just feels a little hollow.
