County Cricket 2022

It would but you can only pick so many and he'd be the next cab off the rank so to speak.

I think Brook might get in for the 1st Test purely on the fact that YJB will only have a day or 2's turnaround from returning from IPL.
I agree totally if he is great form why not bat him 5 or 6 and move others up?

Lees, Crawley, Malan, Root, Brook, Stokes, Foakes would be the most likely and sensible imo.

Is that a definite turnaround for Bairstow? Maybe a chance he'll leave sooner if his team don't have a chance of the play offs? (I've no idea how they're doing)

They have a outside chance of making them so by about this time next week, his team and him will know whether they have made them, therefore that only the 22nd May and first test 2nd June.

I think he will want to play in the first test and think he should and will.

If he does I fully expect him to be out for low scores and people will say he's not prepared properly. Which is a shame, I thought it took too long to drop him when his form was getting worse and worse but he's done really well recently.

I suspect it took long to drop him, because selectors thought that they is not 6/7 batsman better than him in the country and I still think that is still the case.

On form he is definitely, but he spent a long time out of form. But anyway, let's not open that can of worms again, I'm happy for him to be in the team now but I worry about his lack of appropriate practise.

Yeah definitely a concern I agree
Got to say mind looking at the scores today Surrey have 644 on the board top of the championship and have still not declared against the bottom team should be definitely bowling by now imo.

I think the stuff people saying about the IPL wont be relevant,

Stokes has so much clout right at the minute, if he wants Bairstow as his keeper he will play regardless, if he doesnt want him, he wont play

I dont think his form, location etc will hvave anything to do with it if that makes sense

Just pick the best players and the best team.

And imo Bairstow is in it.

I see Broad pulled the "old pros trick" today let's Pattinson do the graft against the top order and then has a cheeky spell to knock over 9, 10 jack and has three in the wickets column.

Yeah I think Stokes will get what he wants early on in his relationship with Mccullum.

BBC report on the IPL match yesterday (quick 50s for YJB and Livingstone) suggest he'll be in the squad.

Interestingly read an article this morning saying McCullum had a "no dickhead" policy when he was NZ captain. "Just because you're a cricketer doesn't make you any better than the man you walk past on the street." He said Jesse Ryder was probably the most talented Kiwi after Williamson but you couldn't build a team around someone like him, he only played 13 times when BC was captain. Wonder if that will have any implications for Joe Clarke if rumours about his behaviour turn out to be true?

Edit: and wonder if Morgan operates the ODI team in the same way and that's why we haven't seen Hales.

Is he still meant to be like that? was a while ago like.

He hasnt had a strong season so I doubt he is getting considered

I wonder if the talk has hurt him as been a lot of negative stuff on twitter about him, he is bound to see it

Someone on here said they live close to him, and suggested he and his brothers go around acting like dickheads
