Confirmed hull sign Huddleston

I don't mean to belittle Hull, but im sure even their most ardent fans would admit we'd have beaten them to Tom Huddlestone had we wanted to
Not if we've spent most of our money and they bid higher (incl wages) on one massive signing.

shame jack is bogged down with the left back duties, he could have slotted in to midfield. although he is a very good full back like.

Is Duncan from Inter still possible? Seemed like he was a top choice a while back.
Didn't I hear some time ago that the Inter coach wanted to asses all of his squad before making any decisions - but they should be making those decisions around 13th or 14th August

My only slight disappointment is that if they have Tom and Livermore they won't be back for Catts as they must have enough in midfield now, not fussed in the slightest personally that we have 'missed out' on him, and a few red faces on here on people who were 100% he had been targeted and had 'the keys'

Good really dont see what he brings to the game apart from a few glory passes. Doesnt score, cant tackle, slow, injury prone and the game generally passes him by. Not what is needed.

I don't want to sound big headed or owt, but surely this means we weren't seriously in for him?

Because you think no-one could possibly choose Hull over Sunderland?
General perception in football of where we are is that we're prime relegation candidates. I don't agree, and think that's a shallow, uninformed judgment. But still - that's what a lot of people think. And some newly promoted clubs have done fairly well in recent seasons - S'oton, Swansea, Norwich, West Ham. Steve Bruce has always been a popular manager with most of his players, whereas pdc has a reputation for working his players extremely hard, being a disciplinarian in terms of and being a volatile character in general.

But I suspect, as in most things in football, it comes down to money. If we were interested and have come out second best, the reasons were probably financial. We've already spent a fair amount, and still have players on high wages we need to move on but don't seem to be going anywhere fast. Hull on the other hand, as a promoted side, aren't encumbered with players on big wages that they need shot of.

Personally, I'm not that bothered about Huddleston. Can't half pass, but not quick enough, and tbh I'm fed up with signing injury prone players.

Maybe Di Canio changed his mind after reading this board.
There was at least 25% of us against it.
We all agreed the boy can pass a ball but nothing else.

Hmm ... I don't seem to have the edit button right and have posted again by mistake. These new changes ... just ignore.
