Coleman/Bain Q and A with fans.

Difficulty is that it's obviously not a rich part of the country, there's a limit to how much a lot can afford. That being said, I think most would accept a small rise every so often if they could see that the club was trying to progress and would benefit from the extra. If they do it now there will be an almighty backlash, it'll definitely spark protests. If they've got any sense they'll keep them the same
Correct, we are actually one of the poorest regions in the country. And that is the problem that any owner current or future must face when deciding if we are viable as an investment.

After the last few results, no doubt worried about a back lash, also they will want all phones and Camaras off at the door. So no information leaking out it's been done before.
There'll be a backlash no matter where they do it now. They would have better off doing it now otherwise they might as well not do it at all.

It certainly is. Like I say, at the right time I'd accept a bit of a price rise, especially in a league where gate receipts matter. If they try to do it now though I'll be tempted to tell them to get fucked "we've made fuck up after fuck up, please pay for our incompetence, by the way the rise in your season ticket cost won't result in any money being spent on players, we're still giving the manager a budget of £0, see you next season, Martin"
Fair comment GG - now is the time the club is going to have to crawl to the support. Bain will need to be at his Smarmiest best as we will lose a load anyway after this season and even more again if relegated.

I can agree with this statement.
I’m obliged

People were threatening to stick a bottle in Bain's throat on Twitter, it was never ever going to go ahead.
Doesn’t surprise me. Saturday was a turning point and Bain is now ripe for getting dogs abuse. Once it turns, as we have seen in the past, it can turn very nasty very quickly.

I think this one started on here but I heard the one about Bain putting a consortium together, taking over and short retaining 30% of his shares. Like I say I’m sure it started on here the other day and has came full circle, might be wrong though. Maybe it has something to do with him pulling the plug?

Bain and short have no future at safc. Wouldn’t work.

Spot on. It's often mentioned that our large attendances, financially, count for very little, we make less in gate receipts than many other clubs with smaller grounds. I think we struggle a lot on the hospitality side, but equally there's a limit on how much the rank and file fans could pay even if we were successful. The struggle with gate receipts will be one thing that potential investors don't like

About 5 years ago, the Mags where bringing in 3x what we were on the hospitality side, as an example.

"Hi Martin! How do you feel the sales of Pickford and Mannone went and are you happy with their replacements?"

Aye, we really struggle. The company I work for often get offered tickets for a box at Newcastle and Sunderland. When Newcastle ones are offered they're snapped up, ours aren't, that was the case even when we were in the higher division. If it was Chelsea or man city or someone they'd get used but otherwise people wouldn't bother. It's not that they're all mags, it's simply location, they see it as a great chance to have a few drinks in Newcastle, go to the match then be straight out for a Saturday night in Newcastle, it's more of a hassle with Sunderland.

Equally when inviting clients to use the box, any who travel from outside the region find it a piece of piss to get to Newcastle, the extra hassle of the metro there and back puts them off Sunderland. It's a pain in the arse but location does cost us with regards to hospitality and that was before we were shit, must be like a ghost town in the boxes now

What an absolute shambles, why agree to something like this then pull out, looks absolutely ridiculous.

If that’s true might explain it like.

Aye, if there's threats being made then you can understand them calling it off. If I was Bain (shudder) I wouldn't be turning up somewhere where some idiot might try and assault me. That being said I'm not sure what they thought the reaction was going to be? They must have known that as soon as it was announced some would make daft comments.

Sounds like @GarethQ is suggesting they really just wanted Coleman there. That was obviously the best course of action all along, I think the fans would have a good chat about football with Coleman. Why the club thought sticking Bain there as well was a good thing baffles me. No one likes the fucker and we know for a fact that he wouldn't be giving straight answers anyway so even if he was asked questions about his part of the business he wouldn't really be able to say anything. Pointless having him there. Should have just put up the football man and left all the business shit to one side for a night, especially when it's linked to Bradley's foundation
