Chris Rigg

Thats the hope, that he’s enjoying his football and we’re playing well so staying makes the most sense, which is a strong possibility.

But if he maintains the trajectory he’s started the season….

Then he’s looking like so obviously one of the top youth talents in world football that’s showing it the strongest second tier division in world football (higher standard than 80% top tiers) that a Real or Bayern may want to pull the trigger and ‘make us an offer we can’t refuse’ say 30 or 40 million, maybe even with a loan back to us for the rest of the season, just so they don’t have to spend 60-80 million a year to 18 months from now.
i think the key thing is the club say no to everything until the end of the season - that's the whole point of him having the contract.

If we are in a good place in January that makes that decision an easier one

Even easier if the end of the season brings us a knees up

I can't see any of our best players leaving if we go up - we will add to them with the money from Premier League deal.
That's the whole point of the model - only sell if you can replace with like for like or better

Chris Rigg and soon Tommy Watson will naturally attract attention from other clubs
This is the same Chris Rigg that Dodds wouldn’t play last year and the same Tommy Watson that had to sit on the bench for the last game of the season with Ba the preferred option.
Long may Dodds never ever be in charge again.
16 too young my arse.

Definitely! Well said mate 👌
Apart from it’s not true

Players like Jude Bellingham and Chris Rigg would end up stars even if Ken Dodds was looking after them.
State of this
What are you talking about man. Rigg made 8 league starts last season all under Dodds, started 8 of the last 10 games of last season I think it was . Dodds was it charge for what 15 games?

People are nuts like, people even commenting saying well said and stuff. Crazy

They explained why they done this. It happens with loads of young players.
Mental the anti dodds agenda on here mind

Some of what is being said about him was said about Dan Neil three seasons ago.

I think Dan Neil has been unlucky with having Cory Evans injured without a natural replacement so he's had to adapt to a deeper role that isn't natural to him. He's a decent enough defensive midfielder but I think his natural instincts are much more box to box so he has to second guess himself.

Irony means absolutely nothing to you does it?

You’re hardly innocent like mate 😂
Nowt wrong with those who have a moan and that but I'm talking about people who just make shite up really. The other day we had people saying speakman has only done an interview and asked for a link to the one after February when we were shit.

He was shown it and just disappeared. Nowt wrong with criticising stuff, but some just make up complete lies to stir the pot.

If we don't go up we should absolutely be getting more than Leeds got for Gray like.
I honestly can’t see that happening to be honest and it’s not because of his talent.

Hell only have 2 years left in his contract at that point and if he’s showing any signs of not wanting to renew clubs know we’ll sell as opposed to letting him enter the final year

I’d be very surprised if we got more than 20/25 million for him next year if we sell.

We’ve done absolutely everything to make him stay, and the club, owner and speakman deserve so much credit

I get people saying he is enjoying football why would he leave.

It’s true if we really are the real deal this season

However if someone like Dortmund comes in, says you will play first team games, and we will not stand in your way if you want to go even further, he will leave quite soon I think

They are basically doing what we do but at a higher level and would get Rigg where he wants to go, faster

It’s bit of a shame aint it, we produce a local player like this and we know there’s absolutely no real chance he will be here long term

The reason I don’t agree is that if as good as we think he is, every team will want him, and the price just goes up, that’s just what happens

People can say Clarke was cheap, but only one team wanted him, if 6,7 teams wanted him, we’d have got a lot more

Enjoy watching this kid for as long as he's here as talent like this doesn't come along too often. He's destined to be an absolute superstar IMHO. The club should do everything they possibly can to get him to extend his contract as it would mean much more value for us when he's eventually sold to a big club

Agree entirely. I feel the Club have let him down in this respect.

Unless something goes badly wrong there is no chance Chris’s Rigg moves next summer for 20m quid
