At times last year he was out best CB..we all seem sure ballard is going to be first choice this year. Id happily grab mepham but we need someone who can confidently step in as 1st choice. The hope seems to be this bologna lad decides he doesn't want to stay and wants to join the ambitious project - although it would still likely drag on until they've signed a replacement

He was just being honest it looks like to me, he said they'd probably subconsciously lost motivation at the end of the season but in the play offs that all changes, some people read far too much into things.You must be logged on to see external links

Mepham looked especially good last season when he got a start and some people went over the top in their praise. He wouldn't have had a start if Alese hadn't got injured as he was excellent next to O'Nien.
As the season went on you could see why he wasn't quite what Bournemouth needed, pace, as is the case with Ballard is his achilles heal, though he made some clumsy challenges that VAR would have caught him for and for a lifelong centre half could be caught way out of position
I thought a replacement for him would have been a top prioritty
