Chris Mepham

Post match on the radio back at the car Benno and whoever was presenting were speaking as if it's gospel it'll be O'Nien and Ballard Friday.

I think his first few games he looked outstanding and looked a level above no matter how well we were playing. However, I think we've learned over the course of a season, he's not Premier League standard.
He was great when he first came into the side I wouldn’t say he wasn’t. He’s been bang average for quite a while now though

We should play our best and most reliable defenders - Ballard and Mepham. We don't need every f***ing attacking move to go through one of our central defenders 5 times.

I didn't get what Bennett was going on about with Mepham. Bennett was talking as if Mepham had been substituted for playing poorly. It was bang on 60 minutes and it was obviously predetermined that Ballard would get a run out for the last 30 minutes.

O’Nein was at fault for the goal. He ran out to back Cirkin up when he didn’t need it and left an ocean of space in our box for their goal scorer.

I wouldn’t be against resting him and playing Ballard and Mepham tbh

I agree. I think you're asking for trouble playing O'Nein, but two right-footed centre halves creates a bit of a problem.

This, i doubt Mepham was happy being pulled off when the goal clearly wasn’t his fault.

They were saying on the TV that the goal scorer was Jobes man but he let him get away from him.

From what I saw, that was oneins area, and he ran out of it to be second man to Cirkin, before he got there though, their lad played the ball into the middle where O’Nein was stood previously.

I guess it depends on our defensive model, but if I’m playing CB and I see a player has ran goal side of my CM, I don’t piss off and leave the CM to it to try and make up the ground. I take his runner and tell him to back up the FB.
Onien was utterly shite today but if you think he was at fault for their goal you haven’t got a clue
Who was then oh clued up footballing sensai?

I can't believe the drop off in his performances in the second half of the season. He looked so imperious at times, but now resembles a bog standard Championship defender. Bizarre.

Would Ballard alongside him help raise his game or should he be on the bench for the playoffs?

As much as I love the bloke, playing Luke O’Nien at centre back is ludicrous going forward

He’s a good reader of the game but for a big lad to easily bullied and doesn’t do enough at set pieces.
Ironically he’s our only player with prem experience so should be a shoe in, but Balllards physicality and set piece play makes him essential. 09 plays because of his possession and passing, bringing the ball out.
The best centre half at the club is Alese, only he can replace 09 I reckon

why does someone need to be at fault? you could say someone is at fault for every goal ever scored. its silly

Cirkin letting the cross come in as usual was more to blame than any of the centre backs.
