Pretty depressing reading, particularly the bit about the private investigators. Ah well. Maybe it won't happen. This article explains why he was eventually found not guilty

I get the difference but at what point do you draw the line? If you don’t give those found not guilty the benefit of the doubt then you’re judging people simply by being accused of a crime.

In what capacity? The article was an analysis by a legal professional who had looked at the evidence. Considering some of the things you’ve said in the thread, you’d do well to educate yourself of it Rivs.
Did he break in?Not guilty isnt the same as innocent mate.
He broke into someone's room without their permission, while they were pissed, and had sex with them. Those are facts.
He may have been found not guilty, but that's playing it pretty close.
If I had spent 5 years in prison for somet I hadnt done I would do anything I could to prove my innocence.
He didn’t spend 5 years in prison for starters
Don’t think any explanation is really required
might as well get adam johnson back ffs![]()
Did he break in?
But I would like one and I think other people would like you to explain

No, he did admit to lying to the hotel receptionist to get the key to the room though. And also admitted to not speaking to the young lass before, during or after sex.
After a prolonged appeal, where evidence of the lasses previous sexual history was disclosed following the employment of private investigators into her past, the verdict was overturned. Not ‘beyond reasonable doubt’ therefore convinction quashed.
Maybe it wasn’t beyond reasonable doubt for a jury to convict him (well not for a second time anyway) but there’s enough doubt about his character to make me know that I’d never want him playing in the red and white of Sunderland. Thankfully it doesn’t look like he will be.
Well if people are willing to pile into a debate they should at least have a slight clue about some of the details.
