From what I can take from the link provided they quizzed a couple of lads who had slept with her previously. His legal team then got special dispensation to use previous sexual history as evidence and the evidence they used from those two to discredit here were that her sexual preferences were the same as what Evans had described. From that they concluded that he had sought consent. Or summat.

Not even that strong. From that they felt there was enough doubt so they couldn’t safely convict. She was NEVER discredited. People really shouldn’t throw round the word innocent. It’s that sort of primary school understanding of our legal system that causes trouble.

..... you'd agree that the girl was a drunken slapper I'd imagine, not an innocent who'd been kidnapped and raped.

Headline in that report is "Women who accused Ched Evans of rape..."

she never accused him of anything, so I'm dubious of how much more in it is going to be accurate if they can't even get the headline accurate.

My own personal opinion of the evidence is that I would have convicted had I been in the jury - even after retrial. Trained legal professionals who’s opinion I trust and who had intimate knowledge of the case said he was guilty. Just because a jury of my peers found they couldn’t convict doesn’t mean I have to treat him like he did nowt wrong. Glad he’ll never play for Safc tbh. If people are looking for a hobby horse to show that women sometimes make false tape claims and put poor downtrodden men into peril, Ches Evans isn’t it.
