I'm not aware of what happened or what new evidence was provided in the retrial and how he got off, maybe he had done more, maybe they just threw more money at it and found some technicalities - I've no idea. But his actions that night in both the lead up to sleeping with her and leaving the hotel were pretty poor and as we saw with the campaign afterwards and the things coming out of the Evans camp and centering on the girl when she shouldn't have been named, this is one we really should stay clear of. We just don't need the baggage or the negativity it brings.

As I recall there were some rather unsavoury boastful texts from the lass afterwards which were exposed as having made her not quite the victim she seemed...

No, it isn't his club, the club belongs to the supporters who are massively divided by this potential signing. If he has any sense he will kill the idea stone dead.

It wouldn’t be a great PR move. I don’t think he’s that good, but he’s certainly not good enough to warrant the press turning on us again, which they definitely will. They don’t need an excuse to have a pop at us and we just don’t need it at the moment.
 
Best centre forward display I seen at sol this season mind, strong and technically v good, couldn’t give a monkeys what he didn’t do, great signing imo.

The remorse part is ridiculous, why would he feel remorse for something he didnt do?

She had also previously been involved in a similar incident with previous partners....

Not my way of going on but what he did was not unlawful and if we are going to talk about morals and persecute people, why not talk about the morals of the lass who met a bloke in a kebab shop and immediately went back to a hotel to shag him.....Or do low moral standards only apply to men?
 
Wasn’t the retrial and acquittal based essentially on the fact she slept around a bit. There was a big kerfuffle wasn’t there that basically the jury pardoned him because his expensive legal team portrayed her as a bit of a slapper all allegedly helped by inducing witnesses to say stuff about her. As I say er mods... this was the talk in the papers not my opinion. The bloke never spoke to her once and his mates were filming outside. Sounds a stand up bloke

She was a proven liar.

That's what 'got him off', the fact that he wasn't actually guilty .......

A club who recently lost its record signing to a noncing prison sentence and have just this week suspended a staff member for grooming a young lad and had knowingly appointed a self acclaimed fascist manager would surely have a bit more common sense than to consider this signing. Especially when they’ve a PR guru on board.
I don’t believe it for a minute tbh.

The only reason supporters are divided is some have literally no interest in the truth and the fact the bloke is completely innocent, in fact worse than that did time for somet he didnt do. Imagine shagging a lass after a night out then ending up doing 5 years for it and it ruining your entire life.....Then after proving you were not lying and that she was you still have toss pots on here claiming you carried out the most appalling crime there is. Lets hope non of you moralistic twats ever find you are falsely accused of somet.

HE IS NOT f***ing GUILTY, HE HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING WRONG, WHICH BIT ARE YOU STRUGGLING WITH!!!

BTW, to compare him to Johnson who actually did do the crime is outrageous given he hasnt done anything.

Thats absolute nonsense Rivs. I suggest you read the link below as it shows very clearly what happened in a way that removed from the tabloid sensationalism. Nothing about his not guilty verdict tells me he’s anything other than a wrong’un
