CC : Surrey v Durham

I'm sure this won't destroy the kids' confidence.

If Chemar Holder can't open the bowling in a team of academy bowlers he's a waste of a pick.
Strange pick, i'd have been giving them all a couple overs tonight anyway, just to change it up. Maybe even Parky an over or 2

Harsh but brutally honest mate . Raises the question of who if anybody’s done background checks . Looks like North and Soupy’s been shopping in Barry’s Bargains . As a last resort a loan deal with a bowler coming to the end of his contract

Last three overs by Minto and Bas were tight and there were no please hit me balls .Good comeback after torrid first 8 overs
The thing is that young lads can be fast learners

The bowling has been, erm, yeah… 🙃
Hogg looked a little, floaty. Minto is quick, needs to keep an eye on his follow through otherwise he's gonna spend a large portion of his career having 'chats' with umpires.

All in all, this attack confirms fears that were had when the team sheet was made available. I'm sure there was no other choice but our bowling attack has looked weak all season for various reasons.
If not for Stokes in one game, potts when allowed by England and raine who I always think of as a ideal 1st change bowler, the whole season could have played out very differently.

On the bright side Hogg is an asset and so is Minto, but just not yet.

(Now watch them take a packet of wickets tomorrow and make me a liar;) )

Could we not have brought Conners in for the last two matches?

Getting hoyked all owa South London won't help the young bowlers' confidence.

I said that re Conners at the weekend. He’s not actually playing as far as I could see so I wondered if we could do similar to what we’ve done with Gay. If he’s not playing for his current county I can’t imagine they would care too much.

Well it will more than likely be a long day for Durham tomorrow but some decent performances today. Bas continues to look a very handy all rounder and improving. Mckinney batted with discipline against a very decent opening attack. Ackerman is definitely our Benks in this team. The two teenagers both looked raw and bowled too many biundary balls but also looked threatening with the odd delivery.
We're safe. These lads will enjoy this challenge. As for Holder I said last week it's a Ali Dia situation, absolute shambles of a signing.
Locum overseas with no pedigrre very rarely come off. Joins an increasingly long list at Durham.

I am a bit out of the loop ATM. What has happened to our bowling attack ala Potts, Raine, Borthwick, Wagner, Coughin, Carse etc

Potts and Carse England, Raine on paternity, Borthwick isn’t to be classed as a bowler these days but injured anyway, Coughlin injured but seems to be on the comeback and Wagner injured so went back home.

I seen a funny one on Twitter suggesting ECB have leant on Durham to weaken their side to ensure Surrey win the league. As much as I believe some counties get favouritism I’m not sure ECB got Raine’s wife pregnant and injured all of our other bowlers.
