It always has had. I remember when the old football pitches used to be there in the late 70s/ early 80s and many was the time that a keeper took a goal kick into the wind and to his horror saw the ball was lucky to clear the penalty area. It's got its own micro climate has the Riverside. I know this will sound like the Four Yorkshiremen sketch but....Two seasons ago we played Northants and it was that cold I did seven circuits of the ground during the lunch interval to try and get my circulation going and our group kept visiting the toilets underneath the Co Durham Stand simply to put their hands under the piping hot water from the sinks.Remember the games against Somerset and Middlesex at home in 2016. Coldest I’ve ever been at any sporting event and that includes football in any December/January in living memory.
You will have to teach me how to do that. I had to write the names out on a price of paper then type the names on the thread.Nearly there lads and lasses. Notts squad announced:

Most from Durham hope they haven't forgot about tomorrow.

So what's your team for tomorrow Brandon lad?Ball doesn’t turn on frozen ground marra
Two things that stand out for me
Not happy with either decision. Two things that stand out for me
1. Poynter appears to have got the gloves
2. No Potts named in the squad and no mention he is unavailable.
Looks like 2 from Eckersley, Thomson or one of the seamers to miss out.Borthwick
Rushworth
Lees
Carse
Bedingham
Poynter wk
Eckersley
Jones
Salisbury
Raine
Burnham
Thomson
Coughlin
Not sure what Eckersley has done wrong. He arrived at the club made a decent impression with bat and gloves and even gets the temporary captaincy albeit with few other willing options and now it appears is 2nd choice to Poynter. Not happy with either decision.

As far as Potts goes I know they will probably rotate the seamers during the first block of championship matches but I thought he might have got first crack after the way he bowled at the end of last season. I hope they don't see him as a one day specialist the way they have with Trevaskis.
From the squad selected:So what's your team for tomorrow Brandon lad?
That’s how I read it.probably in an attempt to get him batting longer, i think it says more about sean dickson than it does him.
i'm guessing thompson & salisbury to miss out. my prediction;
Lees, Jones, Borthwick*, Bedingham, Burnham, Eckersley, Poynter+, Raine, Coughlin, Carse, Rushworth
So much for potts being the new ball bowler then
