CC : Lancashire v Durham

Tin hat on but I would tell England we are not playing Stokes in the next game. To me, clearly a terrific player but dropping into a side after two years, taking all the attention is a NO from me

It has disrupted the batting order in more ways than one at the very least

I think we can all agree that the game was lost in our 1st innings. Even 40/50 runs would’ve definitely made the game interesting

Ah yes, the disruption to the batting order clearly rattled Robinson :lol:

His last meaningful first class knock was January, nigh on 4 months ago, registering a 50. He is not that good he should just expect to walk into a side with no batting behind him especially in a side that had score heavily all season. I would have asked him to play a 2nd XI game first
8,9,10,11 contributed 28 runs in 8 innings.

If any of them chip in with a 20 at some point them we go close, if they play to their career averages we absolutely piss it. And they are all supposed to be handy batters.

That's where the game was lost.

He also walked in with no bowling behind him and got a fifer

Bit of overaction off the stokes dismissal.

Minging shot but with 5 in hand and now 107 to win, if we don't win it's not just down to stokes.

Robinson was pretty stupid too trying to take on Aspinall immediately with the new ball.
Disagree vehemently.
He played completely brainless, gave away his wicket and the game momentum and then went off twiddling his bat like it didn't matter.

All he had to do was continue to play like Bedders had and the game was ours.

The game is 4 days. Ben's shot isn't the only reason as bad as it was.

Our first innings performance picking up zero bonus points is more to blame for the result.

I thought our 7-11 would still see us home which is why I thought it was an overreaction. Not long after my post the collapse happened.

Bedders got an absolute shite dismissal we could sit and blame the umpire as well.

Yes, but after 3.5 days, however shoite either side had been in patches, the game was in the balance, tipping over to Durham. The body language of the Lancs players was showing they thought they were going to lose. They'd tried everything to get a break in that morning session and failed.

Then BS throws his wicket away and their tails were up. The game changed in that moment.

Tails aren't normally expected to contribute much, especially when chasing 475.
No but I think it’s reasonable to expect more than 0s, 1s and 2s in both innings. Mahmood smashed more in their first innings than our tail managed in both of ours. Potts hit 149 recently. Raine is also capable of the odd half century. Really really poor.

Excellent performances from Bedingham and Robinson but woeful from Nos.6-11 in both innings.

Well that's my 16 game unbeaten run as Red ball cricket OP at an end so as promised I'll hand over the reigns to the new person.:D

Save journey home to those who are travelling back from sunny Blackpool.

Bollocks, you won us a title, you only relinquish control when we get relegated!
