He is only playing instead of Clark because he is the skipper although bith poor this season. If he doesn't start contributing with the bat its not going to be long before he and the rest of the management are having a chat about his future. Its not just this season though he quite simply doesnt look the same batsmen who left us and also his last two seasons at Surrey where poor and ended up in the 2nds.

Yeah he’s lost it a bit but I personally think he’s captaincy was key to getting us promoted
The way we played was mental like, you need total buy in with your captain to play that way. I don’t like how people just suggest anyone could have done it, they couldn’t. Not coincidence to me that he’s one of Ben Stokes best mates

Can understand some posters loyalty to Scott Borthwick, but the truth of the matter is he’s not worth his place, has been poor this season and the upper management should be recognising this and dealing with it accordingly.
