CC : Durham vs Sussex


there was one other thing that Marcus North mentioned, which I forgot earlier. He was asked about players being returned from the Silly and why we had players who did nothing for a whole month and weren't returned and he said it was an issue with insurance. When the ECB came up with idea of returning unused players, they neglected to make any arrangements for insurance should those players, contracted for a month to a franchise, get injured playing for their counties. There is a system set up so if a player gets injured playing rounders for a bar snacks side, that bar snack side is compensated and this enables them to call up Graham Clark and not play him, but there isn't anything for the other way around. He suggested that the arrangements at the moment were not fit for purpose (surprise, surprise) and needed to be addressed for next season

personally I hope there isn't a next season for anything so ridiculous

Thought we were going to be in a load of trouble at the lunch break with Sussex having a ton on the board, no wickets down and Pujara to come in. Could easily see them getting 400-500 runs. But the bowlers stuck at it. Great to see Parky bowling one end, seamers being rotated through the other and then Driz and Parky bowling through until the new ball became available. Seamers back on and Sussex were bowled out. Hopefully we can push on tomorrow and set them a score. But at the end of the day this is a must win game for them and their not dominating the game at this stage.

What the f*ck for?? I’ve seen no mither from him lately. Absolutely no shock to anyone that the SpamBot is still here though, posting it’s shit as per.

Brilliant day in the sun today, phone was playing up and I was enjoying the crack at the ground too much to post! Had a few post play pints with a curry afterwards and so I’m only just checking in now! Bat all day tomorrow and we’ll have a lead, interesting comments from Parky about the turn, because he did get a few to really go sharply, but the pitch looks true and good for batting. Echo what others have said about them throwing wickets away too often.

Interested to see how their spinners get on tomorrow, Carson is an England U19 star but Coles who I believe is their other spin option (SLA) doesn’t look to have had much opportunity to bowl in the Championship.

Elsewhere, Leicester looking good to keep their promotion charge going! Worcestershire dismissed in a day but I wonder if that is a result pitch down there.

banned . How many times is this sort of thing going to happen until they realise maybe that it’s not decent posters that are the problem

I got two warnings today for posting SPOILERS in a footy thread about other games, which of course I don’t see a thread for as they are on ignore, so as far as I’m aware nothing is being said

if a mod reads this, tell me why the ignore feature is available and when you use it, to stay away from bother, you get warnings when you have no idea there is another thread ?

Yes,there's more detailed info in this month's Cricketer. Individuals,or their counties,can take out insurance but the cost is prohibitive. Furthermore,there 's a compulsory 3_match excess so it's simply not worthwhile particularly if you're in the £30k bracket.

On my way now as I couldn’t get yesterday and got tomorrow off too. It’s warming up nicely again. One year’s unusual weather pattern doesn’t justify the scheduling m but after all the angst who’d have thought we’d be saying good job they gave August a miss!

weather is so unpredictable nowadays so not too concerned about CC being book ended in the season.
