CC : Durham vs Sussex

It's a positive decision. I like it (I think)
I definitely like it

for anyone with no access to the commentary today, Marcus North was on earlier and he said that the reason we are using the T20 pitch instead of the intended pitch 9 was that it got absolutely soaked last Sunday ahead of the international (which was at risk of not being played because the outfield got so wet) and the preparation for the pitch ended up being days behind, so the decision was taken to re-use pitch 12 instead and play 2 spinners.

It also sounded as though we won't be bringing in a second OS for the rest of the season because of the cost involved and the very small numbers of players available. He also said that the plan for next year is to bring in an overseas quick bowler to play alongside Bedders and to sign him for the CC until the end of July. He also noted that Australia have no tests between March and November and that Aussie players like to have August/Sept off ahead of the Aussie domestic season, so I rather imagine we'll be bringing in an Aussie fast bowler next year. He spoke glowingly about Nathan McAndrew, so maybe that's a deal he's looking at, if they can find a way to make it work

Haven’t been able to follow much of this due to domestic arrangements so it was a most pleasant surprise to see the close of play score after Sussex had been 100 odd for 0 earlier. Well done me bonny lads 😁

I’ll be there tomorrow so will probably put the mockers on proceedings 😂

@brandon had the pleasure of sharing a bus with the infamous dog in a pram. The driver of said pram was wearing a baseball cap with the awful lion logo on so definitely i am not he.

On the topic of baseball caps ones with the durham ccc crest on are available in the club shop. I might buy a few tomorrow

20£ i think. They didn't have a price, the england ones were 30, the Canterbury ones 20 so im hoping 20
Nice quality cap but medium quality plasticy crest rather than embroidery. Not the uber cheap type you get on footy tops though

Bit steep for me

Great comeback from Durham today as it was looking ominous when Sussex were standing at 110-0. Thought that was the best I've seen Parkinson bowl for us by a considerable distance and his outstanding boundary catch started the rot for our opponents.

Let's hope we can bat all day tomorrow on what promises to be a warm one.

Is Parkinson confirmed signing for next year ?
