CC :: Durham v Worcestershire


The irony of it was that the Worcester commentator and Ash Thorp where having a chat about the number of keepers playing in this game and how keepers these days can't be rabbits with the bat and I'm thinking Christ there is one in the middle now doing bugs bunny impressions.

Bancroft was a great skipper in 2019, I was disappointed he didn't get the job again.

Surrey have ruined his batting and not improved his bowling. He need to readjust and remember what his strong suit is.

And he's definitely not Alan Knott with the bat.

I can remember being at the Riverside watching the 2nds a couple of years ago and Poynter spent most of the time fielding at Third Man and I thought that's the end of him and yet incredibly he's still here and in the first team without showing any noticeable improvement.
 
I think poynter is very lucky to still be on Durham books never mind playing, there aren't many players that durham have released in the last few years who I wouldn't select ahead of him. Especially as we already have someone who can keep wicket
 
Lees caught behind on 99 to Leach, who has bowled absolute dross in his second spell and doesn’t deserve a wicket whatsoever.

Did he chop on? Crap shot. Not batted well here IMO, made Tongue look like Rabada.

Lovely sunny evening in Consettshire. Not sure why CLS is so murky
