CC :: Durham v Nottinghamshire

Not sure why Potts was given the new ball as Raine had been our best bowler.
You cannot deny Rushy the new ball at anytime but I thought Raine should have second dabs because Potts had been wasteful and uneconomical with one ball arrowing down the legside every over giving the batsman’s get out of jail free card every time

I can understand the rationale given how I feel Potts bowled overall today. He seemed to have far more deliveries that beat the bat than anyone else. For me, he bowled much better than his figures would suggest and was mightily unlucky to only have one wicket at Close.

Wrong call to field.
I felt that for long parts of the day, because it didn’t seem like there was much in the pitch and they looked likely to score big - but on reflection I’m not so sure. The lads bowled well, 9 wickets without a great deal of assistance is good and of course the total is probably 30-40 runs higher than it would’ve been with ‘normal boundaries’.

Going to be a stiff task to win from here, especially given the forecast but it could all play into our hands if Notts need to engineer a result.

A draw will put Notts through, they don't need to engineer a result.

I’m aware of that, but if Warwickshire go through with them it’ll effectively ruin any chance they have of winning the lot because they were beaten heavily twice by them.

Plot might have thickened to now with Essex’ game abandoned due to Covid. Potential for hell to break lose over the points award :o

Warks are well up on Worcester, the worst they'll get is a draw unless Warks get out for not many more, Worcs get 500+ and then bowl Warks out for next to nothing. In 2 and half days, with rain about. Not happening.

Our game is now pretty much a win or go out.
