CC :: Durham v Nottinghamshire

Could be an interesting last couple of days in this game, first target for Durham is to get to 250 - which given the moisture that’s around won’t be easy but the boundary size and the match situation might encourage the lads to be positive from the off.

There’s not a lot to be gained from scoring 400 in 100 overs for example, but should we get 350 in 70 overs then it would put pressure on the opposition and push for the win.

That’s the worry, but both have a tendency to bowl atleast a four ball an over. We’ll see, but we need to win so there’s no point in the players having fear.
You never know if one of our batsmen especially Bedingham gets in there might be some fireworks with the small boundaries as Durham have to go for quick runs.

Got a feeling Broad and Fletcher in particular will get more out of this wicket especially with their height.
More especially that the water table will still be high. I doubt that a Durham victory is realistic with a full day having being taken out of the game. No need for fireworks though, with those short boundaries scoring rate should be rapid anyway.
And 104 overs in the day remember.

Are they even likely to play. Still light drizzle in Durham.

There was only ten mins of light drizzle at 8am here in CLS but an awful lot fell yesterday.

Will probably have a walk to the ground to get there for 11am anyhow.

Interesting point about the water table, especially with regards to the ball doing a bit.

According to Dave Bracegirdle we’re due to get away on time rain/moisture wise but the light isn’t particularly great by the looks.
