CC :: Durham v Derbyshire

I think Steak Pie answered this earlier - the same reason Poynter was made T20 captain. He was clearly given some assurances when he committed to the county over Ireland.
I find that difficult to believe. You're saying there's a contractual obligation that he is picked for first team matches? Nah, I don't believe anyone has that in their contract.

Q. Who was the last Durham contracted player to keep wicket for Ireland in an ODI?
I can't think, only
Stuff like that boils down to captaincy and selection as previously discussed. Badger seems to let games drift. He bowled Carse too long at Essex and he picked up an injury, doesn't fancy himself to bowl, no other options other than to bang away with same old RFM.

Fully fit, team would be:

Lees
Bancroft
Borthwick*
Bedingham
Burnham
Eckersley+
Coughlin/Carse
Trevaskis/Thomson/new off spinner
Raine
Salisbury
Rushworth

Obvious innit
That would be my side, Potts to spot for Salisbury.

Maybe not contractual, but you would think anyone giving up their international career would have been given some assurances.

All speculation, obvs.

Of course speculation. But what kind of International career did poynter have? As I remember it he hardly played.
