Idk mate, you could try emailing the club? 😄Presumably more than if they hadn't batted at all, which was the case for Thomson and Trevaskis in the first innings.

One opinion. Lets open this debate up. What is a second team for ?
Had this discussion at every cricket club I have been involved with and there is no right answer.
I am of the opinion that a 2nd team is there to provide players for the first team. Winning leagues, cups and even games are a secondary consideration.
When is a club judged on the performance of its 2nd team ?
If the 2nd team wins a league does the club get promoted.....no.
If the 1st team finishes bottom of the league, the whole club gets relegated.
Like I said, there is no right answer.

County Second XI’s are very different to Club Cricket Second XI’s, but generally I’d say you can sum it up in one word ‘development’.

Agree with both points you put over.
Darlington Cricket Club, 2 years ago finished in the bottom 2 of the NYSD Premier league. Their 2nds finished 2nd, I believe, in Division 1.
1st team got relegated to Div 1 and 2nds got relegated to Div 2 !
As for first class counties the 2nd team is there to keep certain batters and bowlers in good form, so they can step straight into the first team, when needed.

If you look at the second team batting order today there was no Potts or Coughlin.
Coughlin was already in the squad of 13 for the 1st team. I am guessing Carse is doubtful so Potts is a direct replacement for him. Thomson was already in the squad.

when I looked Coggers was down at 10 with no Potts-it's since changed. Wasn't aware the 1st team squad had been announced.

Potts and Coughlin shared the new ball in the first innings and now they’ve left the fixture. Suppose having a lead of 550 gives protection to the ‘lighter’ bowling attack we now have to finish the game with.

Hopefully they will have an extra camera on the stream so you can chill out in the back garden with a beer and the stream.

I wouldn't be able to get there if it was open so these streams have been a god send.
