Eh? How is it pathetic?

Kids need role models. Kids TV undoubtedly shapes some of their views, even as they grow older.

If all the kids shoes are about blokes doing blokey jobs, we’ll never get over gender inequality.

I mean it’s a tiny tiny part of it but it is part of it

Take welding for example. If you were to conduct a straw poll there'd be a higher percentage of males say yes to this as a career than females. The door is open to both and people should be given jobs on merit, not gender. But the balance is in favour of males. That's okay.

You apply the same philosophy to any other job role and the balance will naturally shift, sometimes in favour if females preferring and having higher employment rates than males. That's okay too.

Totally agree with this. Most lasses wouldn't go near some job types and those that do often excel in what they are doing.

People seem to sometimes forget that men and women are inherently different both physically and emotionally as part of nature's plan. Im all for women having equal rights but many (not all) are not suited to the roles.
 
The PC Gone Mad brigade are so easy to catch. Constantly on the edge of hysteria, just waiting to be outraged, someone dangles the tiniest fictional morsel in front of them and they gobble it up without hesitation.

While they were growing up both my daughters were asked if they'd like to be fireman or builders. They replied "No, to be a fireman you have to be a man and called Sam, or to be a builder you have to be a man called Bob, so I came be either".

Actually neither of them said this, because at the ages at which they were interested in these shows, they couldn't give a toss what they wanted to be in later life.
 
I was forced to endure two full days if fireman sam last week and was shocked at what I saw and the message it was giving out. Pontypandy, with its population of about 15, now has one fire engine, a 4x4, a boat and a helicopter, all of this when other fire stations are losing staff and equipment. Add to that, norman price is still a little bastard who should either be in a young offenders institute or at least have an ASBO. Oh and there is now a firemanwoman on sams team so poor elvis had to hide the station porn

She’s spot on, it’s not.

Imagine having to explain this to the missus during my latest “babysitting” stint, I muttered FFS under my breath yesterday and my 2.5 year old overheard and started shouting FUCKS SAKE at the top of her voice. Strangely nobody in Pallion batted an eyelid.
