Carlisle United

Another terrible defeat today. Told you about Carlilse they dreadful and are heading down
Surprised tbh.
I thought Williamson would have been good for them but i could see him getting the boot before the end of the month unless he wins a couple.

Today was pitiful, a shocking defeat against a really poor side. Williamson under real pressure, very loud and clear chants of “sacked in the morning” coming from the away end. 1,300 there aswell - they deserve better.

They really do deserve better, pitiful amount of goals scored along with being unable avoid conceding. Whatever Williamson is doing in training and how he asks his selected team to play is obviously not working. The fans have apparently been showing their displeasure for a while now but when does the decision maker say that's enough get someone else in. If he thinks picking up players from former club at a lower level will get him out of it it won't go down well. But then who do you get in next? Are the players good enough, how games are lost makes me think not. A recent match report mentioned passing the ball back & forwards along the back line with no signs of going anywhere which the fans weren't happy about so if he thinks aimless posession based play in your own half will get you out of it he's sacking himself.
Really hope he can turn things around.
I hope somebody can, but Williamson's signs aren't good

Going to be a tense game with us on the 1st February.
Expecting Carlisle to have strengthened and us no real changes.

Booked train tickets. Must be fooking mad.

Or you'll be present for a wonderful three points, their early signs of strengthening [midfielder Callum Whelan from the Heed plus another defensive m/fer] won't produce the number of goals required or add to their defence within a couple of weeks. It'll be a tense game but Carlisle playing their posession game offers opportunities to steal the ball. Olly will be preparing your players to look for signs of where it's going so they can press/steal. It's what most managers get paid for. Carlisle haven't been free scoring & they have defensive frailties.

Points up for grabs.

Don't get me wrong, I hope Carlisle get out of it but the signs aren't good on recent form.

Across the season so far, Cariisle and Morecambe look the weakest teams. Harrogate, Newport and Swindon next most likely.

As I posted a few weeks back, teams that struggle for goals & can't defend are always the ones with backs to the wall; goals for & against columns are usually the starting lead in before moving to when/how many at that level. Which leads to the largest goal conceders and how/whether managers can alter it with the squad at their disposal. Posession based defending has never filled me with optimism, you're always there to be picked off.

Ridiculous about of ex Sunderland players. Looks like they are trying to get the old gang together.

Ethan Robson
Elliot Embleton
Charlie Wyke
Jordan Jones
Dylan McGeouch
And now Stephen Werne

They also have Paul Dummett aswell
Embleton have recently moved into a new house in Sunderland so the commute to Carlisle will be OK.
