Cameron Jerome..

Depressing the state we're in. I'm presuming no one will get on Graysons back if we're mid table all season? I think reality has certainly kicked in with regards to where we are as a club.

Would prefer Jerome than any other striker we've been linked with,he's a big lad and puts himself about Something I think we've been lacking for a long time.Think he just isn't quite good enough for the prem but well capable in this league and would definitely make the opposition centre half work for his money

On a positive note, he's very capable of mixing it with defenders enough to provide a good platform to play off and afford us some possession in the opposition half.

Other than age he's exactly what we need. I'd rather we got someone similar and five years younger but he'd do a job this season and should we somehow get promoted wouldn't be an entirely shit option off the bench.

Im in. People need to understand we are where we are. We ain't going to spend decent size lumps of money on anyone.

I think the aim is to steady the ship then build on that with some youngsters it would be madness to just sign a load of youngsters it would be gambling with another relegation

Last season, yes. 2 goals in 28 appearances at Palace.7 in 50 at Stoke. 37 in 181 at Birmingham. He's not a £6m player for me. We'd end up making a big loss on him I reckon.
we are in the Championship, of those 259 games you quoted, 177 were Premiership. Whilst it isn't brilliant he has a one in 3.25 games in the Championship, much better than the one in 5.6, derived from your selection. I doubt SAFC reckon he is a £6m player either, but lets believe the Sun

Just spoke to a Norwich supporting friend of mine about this. He seems to think it would be unlikely due to the fact the only have 2 strikers including jerome. Would be surprised and a bit gutted if they sold him to us.

I've always quite liked CJ. Think he'd be a good signing at this level

It IS disappointing that we're singing aging players on permanent deals and kids on loan but that's just reality biting.

Young players with potential and re-sale value cost an arm and a leg unless you've got a phenomenal recruitment/scouting set up. The last few years are evidence that at this stage we definitely don't. We just sacked the bloke who was supposed to set one up.

We're getting young loans as they're cheap and older players on permanent deals because that's what we can afford.
It's also a process that takes a while to put in place. Our squad is desperately short so we need a few to bolster numbers. I said earlier, it's very rare for a club to develop a system where they buy youth and shift them on for profit continually. Yes we should aspire to it, but it's a bit of a pipe dream at the minute.

It will probably only be £6m if he scores 20 goals and we get promoted otherwise Norwich will only get around £3m-£4m.

At a guess like.
