Bury's game on Saturday called off

Should be taken out of his hands now he is not "fit and proper" all this is sad for Bury but affects other league one clubs too. One average premier league player could sort this with a couple of months wages!! which a bad reflection of English footballs top heavy structure now.

If the excuse is being used about 5+ games in hand being unplayable down the line, Bolton will be racking up games in hand too at this rate.

4 games in and they don't want to "tire their youngsters" yet we know they won't sign anyone else. a backlog of games later on in the season won't make this any easier

The league have had a stinker this season

Rochdale are an example of how you can do it properly with a small club at this level. Local businessmen running their club the old-fashioned way, and all the better for it.

as much as I feel for the fans I wish they'd just fuck off and fold now. It's so disruptive to the league.

It's disruptive to Bury.

Rearranging a single fixture for each of the other clubs involved isn't that disruptive.

I doubt Sheffield Wednesday are too bothered given that they got a bye through to the next round of the League Cup.

Surely The FA should look at this and learn from this for the future.

When a club is sold The FA should have a contract stating that if this type of situation arises again that the owner can be stripped of assests such as the ground and training ground. Then they can facilitate with a fans group/new owners and get the club running again
.
Obviously this is easier said than done!

It would be the EFL's responsibility rather than the F.A.'s and they're a rudderless ship.

It's hard to feel sorry for the chairman/owners, rumours are that Bury players were earning 8k + a week in League 2! So they have almost laid their bed.

Sad for the fans though, could so easily have been us!

Don’t forget when we signed Maguire, Donald Claimed he’d joined us for less money than he was on at Bury

The "fit and proper" test is nothing but a joke and this proves it.

It's easily rectified though.

Simon Jordan made the point that as a condition of membership of the EFL, all clubs should have to deposit a sum of money which would be used to finance the club if something like this happens.

The deposit is refundable on the sale of the club, assuming it hasn't been spent prior to that.

Won't or can't?

We've played our youngsters from the start of the season at the request of the EFL.

Bury can play their first team from the word go if they can sort out their problems.

Perry Groves made a similar one, like when you put a deposit down for a house. If you then can't pay for it, you lose the deposit, which, in these cases, could be used as operating costs until a new buyer is found.
Ridiculous this now. Kick them out

Then people lose their livelihoods. The bellend owner should be made to sell for the amount, less any costs he paid. There is a buyer in place, he just won't sell without making a few million , which is completely wrong.

We all feel for the fans, but it's making the league look absolutely amateurish. The EFL just seem to be using delay tactics as they don't want to make the difficult decision. I'm glad we're not due to play either side until Christmas time.
