'British Jobs for British People'

its over 10 mins long man.

Rachel Johnson stated that Conservative Party rhetoric was inherently racist and akin to BNP sentiment for suggesting we put 'British People First'. She then put the the following analogy to Nick Ferrari, 'You want work done in your home and you have two quotes, one for £4k, the other £1.5k. The former is a British guy, the latter a Pole, who do you employ?'

She suggested that she'd employ the Pole 10/10, whereas other members of the panel rightly said you wouldn't make a judgement solely on price without first doing further research into past work or what have you.

Essentially the notion was why give a doctor from India a job in the NHS when theres junior doctors here who can't get work. AN example NHS based being used as political dynamite.

Any racism is sort of irrelevant, it's not really a sensible basis to run an internationally competitive economy and so the argument is stillborn.

Whats a British job? Call centre? MacDonalds?
In my case it's a specialist area of law where Britain leads the world (50% of the decent lawyers who do it are British), where we sell our services abroad, particularly to Europe :D

well that notion is easily solved by only "letting in" the skills that we need rather than those where we have enough "home grown". Aus and NZ seem to managae fine with this approach

I think Ferrari was of the opinion British people were those born here, even the children of migrants.

Children of migrants, but not the migrants themselves?

Bizarre - whats the proposal then? That everyone not born in the UK but living here, no matter how long for, should be forced to give their job up?

Ah, typical lawyer, whoring themselves out to the highest bidder.;)

What are you in anyway, don't think I've ever known that?

Edit: area not what are you in, what you wear in the comfort of your own home is nothing to do with me.

Its very dull, too late to explain its full tedium, maybe another time!

I expect the government to put British people ahead of foreigners. Foreign countries look after their own.
