No offence but Bolton are hardly an inspiring story of a rise from adversity. You are probably coming to back league 1 with us ffs

With respect.
We honestly didn't believe we'd have a club or at least be relegated to League 2 due to an automatic points deduction.

To be 19th in the Championship with a squad worth £0, we are certainly very happy. We could certainly still go down yes.

But I'm just trying to suggest that if the worst does happen to your club you can certainly bounce back on the 1st attempt.

I know you're trying to be positive and I appreciate that but our situation is far worse than you're making out. Don't underestimate how bad it is.

So much so I would be surprised if we finished in mid table in league one next year. Promotion won't even be on the agenda of our chief executive.

Yeah we had it very bad as well, too many clubs are being ruined by owners with no idea.

Good luck to you

Bolton area a decent club and I've always found their fans decent crack.

They had as many if not more problems than us at the start of this season and on paper their squad isn't as good as ours. The difference seems to be Parkinson is playing to their strengths (the style isn't universally popular with their support) but they're scratching out results - a few wins at home and scrapping for draws away.

I thought selling Madine would come back and bite them but it looks like they'll have enough to stay up.

What makes you think there squad isn't as good as ours? I'd swap in a heartbeat. Sad but true.

If someone offered me midtable mediocrity in League one next season I would take it. I fear we might go straight through, it is that bad here.

Other than Kirchoff how many of that line up would you have said were better than ours on paper?

Admittedly our players have been a massive let down but the likes of Oviedo, Kone, Cattermole, Williams, McGeady, MacManaman, Fletcher, Gibson, McNair, O'Shea etc should have been able to achieve mid table in this league without too much trouble. Until January we were also able to call upon Grabban and Ndong I just cannot understand how we've been so bad.

Hi, Bolton fan here, please don't crucify me!

I've been reading some comments about your current situation, and I've just come here to try and reasure you if I can.

I know we are both fighting for our lives and Bolton aren't anywhere near safety yet, but if you do go down to League 1, it isn't the end, in fact it might be the start of something new for your club.

We went down to League 1 2 seasons ago, with just 30 points, a record low, had near 200m in debt, players and staff wages not paid, and in the news constantly for all the bad reasons.

But slowly we rebuilt in League 1, got new owners, new manager and enjoyed one of my favourite seasons as a Bolton supporter, in comparison to misery we endured in the Prem and Championship. We didn't win the league, but to see everybody smiling again was very rewarding after the last 6 years of our decline.

League 1 is an appalling league, and all I'm saying is if Bolton could get promoted, you certainly can. Seeing a near packed out stadium for the last few home matches was incredible again.

I really hope you stay up, and hopefully in the future Sunderland vs Bolton will be a premier league match again.

All the best.
TBH I thought when you sold Madine you were gonners, now I think you will get out of it. Draws are no good it's three points we all need and we aren't capable of it whilst you are. I know you posted here in good faith so take the insults with a pinch of salt all visitors get it.

Tin hat on mind marra, that will go down like a lead balloon on here but it's a fair enough post. My cousins wife is from your neck of the woods and I've watched you a canny few times while in the top division under Big Sam as they used to live local and she worked in the offices so freebies. Superb atmosphere back then and loved the way you used to shove it up the big lads bums, good luck as long as it's not at our expense ( I don't think we have a snowball in hells chance tbh)

Canny post with good intentions. Had a massive soft spot for yourselves when you had all of the mental scandanavians Okotcha Hierro and campo. Good luck for next season and the rebuild.

But fuck me is this what it's come too  don't worry everybody one day we may get back to matching a relegation threatened Bolton.

Cheers mate.

We do play some horrible football, but seen as our manager has spent £0 in the 2 seasons he’s been here, we can’t complain.

If it does the job I’m sure Parkinson will be forgiven. I hope you stay up and it’s looking like you will. I’m just sorry there’s very little evidence to suggest we’ll do the same.
