Had a mad one yesterday and went blackberry picking with the mother, bird and dog.

Found the whole thing very relaxing, bit of rural Durham fresh air and scenery.

What does one do (apart from a crumble) with a sack full?

    Makes excellent wine.

Also jam -mine usually turns into a sloppy compot but it’s wonderful to spoon onto a bit yoghurt on a winter’s morning.

Mash them all up, lather yourself and the missus in it then buck.

In all seriousness, we usually opt for a crumble as my garden is full of cooking apple trees.
