Not sure of the technical terminology but they go through the bottom of the boat and it's used for oil rigs. Sure I've got a photo of one that was here last year where the boat bit was at the top of the towers.

Yeah, saw it just the other day at Port of Sunderland.

Its been in getting some repairs to one of the jack legs, it is huge like

It needed repair work on a jack-up leg a few years years ago when it was installing the tripod structure for Blyth Demonstrator Windfarm.

also, them legs are big, but surely not long enough to jack up off the sea bed when out at sea?
