Bid rejected for Clarke

And then we have an unsettled player who we would be risking wouldn’t be giving 100%.

Burnley are clearly low balling. They’re doing it to unsettle Clarke, meaning we then have to settle with a lower fee just to get a player who no longer wants to be here off the books.

Burnley can fuck off, though. The only way we keep Clarke is if we agree a new deal with him.
Everything I’ve seen from Clarke suggests he does want to be here.

I'd say you are under contract for a further three years. If you want to move to Burnley, first they need to agree a fee with us.

If that doesn't happen, then you are free to discuss terms with Burnley at the end of your contract.
Ideally that'll happen, however....

All of this is coming from Harte the agent. He’s going round telling everyone he should be playing in the premier league and encouraging clubs to bid knowing if we are to spend a substantial amount more now we need to generate income. Agents are all rats.

I'm not against giving him a pay rise, but we hold the cards because he has already signed a 3 year contract. If he gives up he's not going to earn himself a move for more money. We can't just be lumping him stacks more cash every time some makes a derisory offer for him.

If he wants to leave and someone offers a fee that's acceptable, then we should let him go. Same applies to any player. We shouldn't be holding people prisoner.

This has become a joke now. For Burnley to think we would sell the lad for £9m is actually an insult to the club and actually to the the lad himself, in todays market he is worth way more than that. Spurs paid up to £11m for him three years ago and whilst if would have been based on performances that was the overall fee. Three years later the lad is a far better player and in my opinion is certainly good enough to play for a PL side no disrespect but way better than Burnley who you would say are certain to be fighting relegation.

Every player has his price and we will not sell Clarke for a penny less than £18m, if in the slight chance that we do, there a genuine questions to be asked as to why.

No I never. I said somebody and just gave the options of only a few places it could come from. I don't think it's the club at all.
You need to read your own posts, anyhow, I cant be arsed to engage with someone who has no idea what they are are posting, go and type shite at someone else

Burnley? He won't be chomping at the bit to go there.
Over 100 pages has he gone yet ?
No, it's a poor thread full of mags and wums who seem desperate for Clarke to leave.

Wish the mods would lock it. It's run its course.

There is no however,he has a long contract which by all accounts we are about to increase. He is settled here as is Roberts, then you have players openly declaring that they want to come back like Amad,Simms. Our academy kids lining up to sign pro contracts because they can see the trajectory of the club.I have told my mate Edwardo who has a bar near Las Ramblas to get ready for us within 4/5 years,we will take over the Camp Nou.We are building a young ,exciting squad playing great stuff,so while we are happy to go along with no huge fee signings it wouldnt go down well if we were selling our best players cheaply.

What did that Lewis-Potter go for last summer? That’s surely the benchmark.

I think the club will be tempted to sell if they see bids of £15m plus up front, mind. And if it was to happen, you’d trust that we’re willing to spend £6m-£8m of the proceeds on a replacement (likely to be already identified).
