Bid rejected for Clarke

We’d then turn around to Burnley and say ‘I hope you haven’t been offering wages without agreeing a fee with us beforehand.’

A lot of turning around going on here.
When one of the best players in a Championship team goes to a PL team his wages increase.

The main thing is that there's either adequate replacements in the club or lined up when an acceptable bid is made for our best players.

Think Clarke is one of the more difficult ones to replace as he works so much harder defensively than most wingers and also has an excellent understanding with both cirkin and Pritchard.

Stewart Ballard Neil and Roberts will probably also have clubs looking at them no doubt.

What if Clarke turns round and says match the wages Burnley are offering if you value me more than them?
I'd say you are under contract for a further three years. If you want to move to Burnley, first they need to agree a fee with us.

If that doesn't happen, then you are free to discuss terms with Burnley at the end of your contract.

And then we have an unsettled player who we would be risking wouldn’t be giving 100%.

Burnley are clearly low balling. They’re doing it to unsettle Clarke, meaning we then have to settle with a lower fee just to get a player who no longer wants to be here off the books.

Burnley can fuck off, though. The only way we keep Clarke is if we agree a new deal with him.

If that's the kind of offers they're putting out they'll be relegated in no time when they fail to sign anyone.

But after weeks of this clarkes agent could easily say no hes not interested. They won't spend 6 weeks bidding and finally agree a few for Clarke to say 'nah I'm alright'. If a bid is accepted then he will go.

I dont think he will leave though. I don't think Burnley will pay what we want and I think the agent will use these bids to say if we reject 15m quid then Clarke should be paid like a £15m player on a new deal.
so basically, you're making post after post and getting yourself all in a tizzy over something you don't think will happen? okay.

Nope. People are getting themselves in a tizzy frothing at the mouth because I've said something they disagree with.

This will happen every day in football and doesn't phase or bother me at all.

The next bit that comes will be 'if you value me at 20m then I should be paid like it'. Don't have a problem with that either, I'd think the same.

yoou need to read some of your posts :)

Checked the Burnely forum, they're generally being quite realistic about the price and knowing that they're low balling us. Obviously they suspect/ hope to get him for 15m ish, while acknowledging that our fans want 20+.

I agree with this from their forum, very sensible imo:

So either meet the price tag or move on. This reminds me of the Garlick days.Makes me wonder if we are really serious about him if you look at how quick O'Shea was concluded
