Bid rejected for Clarke

Ok so Luton comes in and does that. Does he leave?
More tricky decision if it is a team odds on for relegation.
And what if these premier league teams don't offer safc anywhere near enough the right transfer fee? He won't be going anywhere in those circumstances.
If they want him they will offer the going rate- whatever that might be.

We just have to accept finances are in a different scale in the Prem.

If one or two Prem teams are prepared to double his wages he will go this window. So would anyone else in his position - even Sunderland fans such as Patto and Neil.
It's not up to him on his own is it. And not everyone is motivated by money alone.

(As an aside I'm not sure Patterson is a Sunderland fan? He's from mag territory)

Clarke may be convinced that we can push on and go up this season with a club he's actually enjoying his football at. Some seem to forget that he's already had a big move, which didn't work out.

The grass isn't always greener and the clubs mentioned will be fighting relegation anyway.
^^ This. Have said the same to others, he’s just had 3 year at spurs barely kicking a ball to being probably the main man in an exciting up and coming team. Hopefully he isn’t motivated by money 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Obviously I hope all of the young ‘uns stay, and I hope that the miracle happens and we are in a position to get Amad back. However, I wouldn’t begrudge any of them a big money move to the PL if it happens. Every one of them deserves it after the effort that they put in last season.

That said, they must all be looking at the dressing room from last season and the addition of Bellingham (I think the other 3 will be more of the unknown for them), and thinking that if they all stay, and have all developed another year, then they could do something special this season, and be playing in the PL together next season. They have the potential to do something special as a group - that sort of chance doesn’t come around too often, and if they have their heads on right, then they will know that.

Everyone is motivated by money.. a footballers money earning years are not very many. He has to earn as much as can whenever he can... just imho like

This is not true. Not by a long way. Don’t translate your own paradigm and motivations onto others. The majority of the world are not motivated by money - they need and want enough money to get by, but they are not motivated to have more and more money. If Jack Clarke was purely motivated by money then he wouldn’t have joined Sunderland permanently last summer.
