I thought everyone wanted to play for Rafa though? Riedwald & Loftus-Cheek obviously disagree. Plus all the other players who have turned Newcastle down.

There you go thinking again.
Still didn't address my point though, I'd never heard of Riedwald before you mentioned him, the first thing loftus-cheek said was that he lives down the street...............that's commitment to the cause for you.
shit club, shit fans, shit ground............need I continue?

Just been on sky sports news....hes history

Was expecting the miserable get to win Wimbledon again but knocked out in the quarter finals this afternoon

Don't know what?

Maybe why you're spending your Wednesday night on a Sunderland forum?

Love these threads, when it happens the meltdown will be hilarious. You lot really do chomp away far too easy, so many posts you lot have been all over, class.
Well said marra

I think we should have an RTG sweep on the first funeral procession or bedsheet banner

Or maybe the first horse punched?

Or first phonebox smashed

I'm going October 1st for any of the above
September 1st more like

I've absolutely no idea what will happen ........ but if Benitez walks it'll be interesting to see if the Mags continue to swamp this board.

It's clear to see where this is going and it's so predictable.

Ashley - Villain

Benitez - Hero.

And so the NUFC pantomime continues

I've said before, not sure why the mags aren't pissed off with Rafa tbh. He keeps twisting on through the media that he's gonna leave.... does he wanna manage them (in which case he should shut the fuck up), or does he wanna leave?

Like I say the mags are blinded by their hero worship. The rafalution..... take over a shit premier league team and turn them into a shit premier league team. Not many men can achieve that

We're not pissed off with Rafa because we know Ashley. He makes promises to the manager then breaks them. That's why Keegan was successful when he took them to court. Everybody agrees we need to buy players, everybody knows that the market has gone a little bonkers, all Rafa is saying is that he's frustrated that the promises made to him about being allowed to spend what he's brought in (player sales, the initial payment of the Premier League money, pittance we got for winning the Championship). Thus far we've spent c£14m, which doesn't even wipeout the money we got from player sales last summer.

fwiw Benitez isn't alone in wanting more money Klopp is publicly frustrated too.

A good manager can work to a budget.

Think its more a question of promises not being kept and differing views on what is required, as well as the club matching the ambitions of the manager.

Or being over ambitious and overlooking the fact that players no longer see newcastle as an attractive club. Swansea are beating you to signatures these days.

Expectations need to be lowered but when there's talk in the local press of top 6 finishes, things will never change. It only helps but add unnecessary pressure to the situation.

You'd have been better off picking up 2-3 of the best young championship players. Spending decent whack on a centre half, central midfielder and striker if your budget allowed it. There's still lots of time but the more the media dwell on your inability to bring in players, the more difficult it will be to sign players that are value for money as the selling clubs will realise how desperate you are.

The same will happen to us if we leave things too late.
