Being late on the 1st day of a new job.

Well yeah you need to do your contracted hours. But where I work there’s absolutely no reason why everyone has to be there at the same time. A couple of us have changed our hours by flexible working anyway, so I can’t see any reason why we couldn’t have a flexitime system, apart from the cost of a clocking in machine.

But as mentioned earlier, I’m late for everything. I was meant to be on site for 10am today and it’s 30 mins away. I left at 9.40, and arrived 10 minutes late. I spend my whole life assuming any given time is plus or minus half an hour.

Why wouldn't you just prepare to get there earlier then? That's just laziness.

Take into account it's going to take you 10 minutes to start functioning normally (as you said in another post) and wake up 10/20 minutes earlier and have a coffee/breakfast/shower to wake yourself up (as most people do).

If you're not late for a specific appointment then that's fine but nonchalantly wasting other people's time is out of order and makes you look a dick.
I appreciate that. I’m just trying to convey that it’s not like something you can help.
People with this problem can’t gauge time properly. If you told me i could win a million quid by being at a certain place at a certain time I’d still end up leaving 5 minutes too late.

You don't.

It is.

They can. If it's a genuine medical condition what's it called?

Idiot.

You sound like a gamer staying up really late, that's why you feel like a zombie on a morning.

If you're mint the fuckers can wait for you. You're doing them a favour by just being there. Or the door should be a guillotine operated automatically. Maybe that's too quick for such a hyena-ish crime. On second thoughts just make the doors slow and squashy. That'll hurry the fuckers up. 😉

Plays on his playstation 'til 2 in the morning.

That’s fine for the people it works for. I mean it works most of the time but sometimes I have no clue it’s gone off. I even bought one of those clocks on wheels you have to chase round the room but it eventually broke. The problem is that some people can jump out of bed at the crack of dawn fully functional. If I get up before 10am I’m staggering round like a zombie for 10 minutes waiting for my circuits to power up, regardless of what time I actually went to bed.

Dave I think I might have found your answer

ee, if I went to bed at 10 I’d never have any time to myself either. I was nodding off uncontrollably about 11 last night so I did some things to wake myself up and got another 3 hours of gaming/tv/porn time.

There we go then. Can't function properly because he's wasting his time playing games really late at night and it's messing up his real life plans.

your only problem is you sit up all night playing games on your telly man, gan to bed :D

It doesn’t really matter what time you go to bed. It’s the transition from sleep to awake that’s difficult. Same reason I don’t have power naps, cos I feel worse afterwards.

I never play the PlayStation past 12.30

It’s not staying up gaming man. It’s just staying up to wring the most time out of the day.

Absolute manchild and is proud of the fact. It's his bairns I feel sorry for.
Why would you possibly feel sorry for the kids? Having a manchild Dad is way more fun than having a boring sensible one. Fact.
And the going to bed late runs in the family. My parents never went to bed before midnight, which is why I find people who do odd.
Unbelievable.
Jealousy is a terrible thing

You must see that there's some correlation between you staying up till 2am and struggling to get up for work on time?

from your previous post on the thread someone posted a link to, you said you were nodding off at 11pm but you managed to do something to stay awake and get a few more hours of gaming/porn/tv time. even your bodies telling you its fucked. get yourself into a routine and you'll be amazed
