Batth to Norwich ** confirmed **

Would have been useful against Millwall etc but correct to let him go, given how we're trying to play at the back, rather than keep him as a sub.

Would have done more harm keeping him to have a section of the fans chanting his name every time we concede a goal.

IF the sole reason for his departure is Mowbray deciding he can't play "The Mowbray way" whatever that is then questions need asked.

I hope the reason is financial otherwise I'll lose all faith in our head coach.

Agree, it was last season and counts for nothing now. He was in poor form pre season and has been dropped on merit.
So competitive games only a few months back spanning over the course of a season count for nothing but a few meaningless friendlies based purely on gaining match fitness are the yardstick?

Cos Tony prefers O'Nien and Ballard and rarely subs centre halves. His time will come.

Well then Mowbray is a clown and I say that as one of O'Nien's biggest fans btw.

You'd think he would have learnt from the absolute carnage at centre back last season but clearly not.

Based on pre season and where they have came from, and Batth was voted player of the year by the fans based on his performances, just because you don't rate him doesn't mean that everybody that voted for him were wrong.
I do rate him and would have preferred to keep him but he wanted to leave.

I still don't believe he was anywhere near our player of the year, though.

Baath and Ballard both missed the end of the season. Both came back pre season, Ballard impressed Baath didn't.

I believe he was also poor in the league cup game but I wasn't there.

It's a very small sample size you're using to base your argument on. I'm basing mine on since when he joined but specifically last season, culminating in an individual award. We don't have to agree on whether he deserved it but the fact he got it speaks volumes

He was excellent last season. His passing isn't the best but he wins more than his fair share in the air. He's a bit slow but is generally good positionally. He can be a little slow to close down at times.

I'm more interested in the Dutch kid than Danny Baath. Good servant, gone.

After a decent few hours with the lads we’ve brought in, SAFC leave a bitter taste in the mouth letting a good one go.
Good luck Danny
