Best player in decades and they're 8thSome people on this forum have w strange obsession with massively over rating other sides players while talking down our own
The same ones who said Ipswich had the best side ever In league one and were gaurunteed championsBest player in decades and they're 8th
I'm not even sure that Barry Bannan would get a game for us. I wouldn't have him ahead of Neil, Winchester or Pritchard. I'm not even sure I'd prefer him to Embleton. He's an old lad playing for a mid-table League One club that have only managed to win 9 times in 22 attempts, this season. In his defence, he's better than Scowen or Power, so would walk into our team, last season.
Bannan never had the physical attributes to make it at the top level and he isn't good enough in other areas to overcome that. Neil has the physical potential.Judging individual players by what their team has achieved isn't always a clever move. Even from our own history, we know that.
Bannan is a proper footballer, he's actually quite similar to Neil, obviously Neil has a very, very bright future ahead of him whereas Bannan is at the latter stage of his career. I would agree that trying to get Neil as much gametime as possible is what we should be doing, but it's easy to say that when he's our player.

Barry scottIs Barry Bannan the lad with the Cillit Bang?
Cleaning my shitter, Barry Bannan.
Playing class footy, Dan Neil.
Dan Neil in all cases, Barry Bannan looks like young Steve McClarenI think he means for a buck![]()
Would probably let him buck her before she left and he stayed…
Great player Bannan, especially at this level, sadly he demands the ball too much, and other Owls players are over reliant on him, and never see another option... bar
"Pass it to Bannan"
Ive honestly seen 'em pass it to him when he's flat on his arse
Keep him out of the game for a bit, he gets frustrated and starts having a go at the other players...Fair play I do the f.ookin' same
Then he tries too much and he drifts backwards, takes it off the centre half, and wonders who to pass to in midfield..Seeing as he has just left the bloody midfield, the options are limited
As for playing at a higher level?
Ive heard he had offers but decided to stay...can't fault him for that...Most would have left the door swingin'
I’m sorry but I’ve just read Barry bannan is a phenomenal player that reminds someone else of David silva
He’s a good player playing below his level but I’d consider Kevin de bruyne or joelinton…as a phenomenal player not Barry bannan whose highlight was once playing in the premier league for a struggling villa team
