Tbf I presume they're talking about "for this level".

A player can remind you of a better player, because it makes more sense to draw comparisons with better players than players that no one has ever heard of.

Bannan was a good Championship midfielder, not Premier League standard I don't think (although probably would have got by in a relegation-battling PL side at his peak) and should be way above League One standard. However, Dan Neil has a load of ability and is standing out this season.

Barry bannan is an ok footballer probably now at the correct level
 
Most people will say Bannan was shite on here after the match regardless of how well he plays I'd imagine.

Bannen one of the most underrated midfielders I've seen he is a proper footballer but even for a short term Dan Neil is absolutely outstanding at this level, if he never improves one bit he'll be a premier League midfielder before he retires.

Bannan has a decent delivery but he's played the majority of his career outside the PL. Talk about over egging a pudding.

It's over-egged for a reaction, just like everything else.
 
I'm not even sure that Barry Bannan would get a game for us. I wouldn't have him ahead of Neil, Winchester or Pritchard. I'm not even sure I'd prefer him to Embleton. He's an old lad playing for a mid-table League One club that have only managed to win 9 times in 22 attempts, this season. In his defence, he's better than Scowen or Power, so would walk into our team, last season.
