Away tickets - Loyalty points . . .

Is that because we took 7,700 to Everton?

Thats a canny big closed shop if you ask me. It's 25% of our season ticket holders.

It'll likely be more than that , as there'll be plenty of people who missed Everton away who have been to other away games this season

That’s the one away game we got to.

Nowhere near for all the others and totally impossible for him to ever get enough points to get into a phase 2

Don't you think your being a bit dramatic?

In 10 years time , when hes still only 15 (!) he'll have been to more away games than 95% of 15 year olds, and he'll have his whole life ahead of him..

In 10 years time we could have been back down to mid table championship level and back up to the premier League , and he'll still have 50+ years ahead of him to go to as many away games as he likes

Side point, and maybe one for the older members of the board, but when were points introduced?

I assume way back in the day it was a bit of a free-for-all?

The only way he’ll ever get enough points to attend league away games is if the demand drops. Everyone is assuming we’ll end up shit or relegated. I don’t subscribe to that view. What if we end up succeeding, the demand will get higher and they’ll never be a way for anyone outside they current phases to get enough points.

How? He wasn’t old enough to go in league 1?

Kids are born every year, hence that’s why some come of age every year.
a couple of years ago we had swansea, plymouth, millwall and bristol city off the trot within 6 weeks. myself and a lot of others spent a lot of money and time to go to them. do you really want folk who did those and other horrendous trips getting up at sackless o clock and not getting home till the early hours of the following day to forego their tickets so your son (i suspect it's you really) can go to a nearby game that suits.
now that is selfish and sorry if you can't see it and age doesn't come into it. we used to regularly see a bloke with his bairn at the match who would've been not much older than yours. granted the kid paid little attention to the game but it's there.

By your logic, because it's raining today that means it's going rain every day , forever

Sure we did Wycombe , Lincoln and Shrewsbury - 3 away games in a row round about 2019 - I drove to all 3 and we didn't even score a goal

Unfortunately he wants to pick and choose his games NOW and it’s non-negotiable so we have to deal with the tantrum

But it’s can’t be totally impossible for him to get to phase 2 because people have got into phase 2, therefore it’s not impossible

Where does his next point come from?

Roker park was often just a queue at the ticket office, or if you knew Bobby Jewitt.

I genuinely don't know where his next point comes from ? Hopefully we have long runs in both cup competitions next year and every tie is at home. I sympathise with your point of view but people with points now who have been to some horrendous away games shouldn't lose out because of a ballot.

If memory serves the SOL era ? I seem to remember the Roker Park days you just used a voucher out of your season ticket book.

I stand to be corrected.
it was a voucher at roker. did they not also actually have a voucher you handed in at the start of the season that was if you wanted to apply for them all? (might be wrong with that like)
there was also the gold cards, queueing through the night and getting lettered vouchers at certain games that were in a draw for a cup game.

Because at some point we will, history says we will. I don’t think anyone on this board will have been alive to have seen us been successful over a period of time. If somehow this is the time and we are going to be massive then he can go to the home games and just enjoy us being mint and grabbing a ticket here and there for away games.

We get past Oxford in the cup and there's a 50/50 chance of a home leg and an easy point..

There's also a chance that the last 3 away games - if the season has tailed off - will go down to 10+ points (kick off time dependant)

Obviously doesn't help those on less than 10 but will give a massive group of people the chance to go
