Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

The most worrying thing about this is that when Stokes goes, Brook is going to be captain. He will probably take out a double headed coin for the toss and still call tails.

I’m not sure he will be. If the ashes ends up 4 or 5-0, then the whole set up will change.

Stokes may stay on as player but McCullum will leave the red ball side, Key might go from the ECB and the new head coach will probably choose a proper test cricketer for captain and vice captain.

Who that’ll be nobody knows, because the only proper test cricketers we’ve got at the moment are Root & Stokes😂

Other than Stokes, I don't see any leaders in the current set up. It'll be Brook next by default either way.

Maybe not in the current setup, but surely Haseeb Hameed has the qualifications and deserves another go. I've mentioned previously that I felt he should be on this tour.

Before anyone says he has had a chance and wasn't good enough and was discarded, Crawley and others aren't good enough as specialist batsmen but don't appear to have the 'stigma' of being dropped.

Otherwise Mike Brearley is a good shout.

Seems a long way off but you never know what fresh views a new setup would bring, although we need Key and McCullum gone to stand any chance of change. I still think Lees, Hameed and probably even Sibley are better options than Crawley.

Ponting would never coach England come on now
Why. It would probably be the ultimate insult from him, it takes an Aussie to build a decent England etc

- spot on

Can't really argue with that.
Boycott said pretty much the same on Vaughny`s podcast. They should be out playing matches before the test, gettng used to pink balls, getting used to the aussie tracks etc
