Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

Win the toss and ?

Far too early to tell really, and I doubt it’ll make much difference. Starc and the pink ball will absolutely run through our batting. I’d be very surprised if we manage to score more than 200 in either innings, getting out of the test with a draw would be a very good result.

That said, I don’t think we have it in us to bat the overs required to get a draw.

If the series is played to form, we could lose the next test, win the 3rd, put ourselves in a with a great chance at the 4th but lose along with the 5th

Be stunned if we make 200 v Starc and the pink ball think they will lose the ashes in less time than 11 days of 4 years ago

But sadly it’s become a closed shop with Key & McCullum had more than enough of both!

Gilchrist reining it in a bit saying Australia weren't very good despite the way it ended, and only two players delivered. Said they should be worried that by lunch on day 2 they looked like the test had gone. Does acknowledge that whilst Starc isn't at his best he should cause problems, even with sensible batting, with the pink ball.

We don't. Attacking is a smokescreen for some. And if we do stay in any length of time the scoreboard gets a hammering quickly.

Lost once with the ol pinkage.
Yep just like how they lost at Perth stadium for the first time last year.

They lost their very first pink ball test last year to the Windies at Brisbane which was their 12th out of 14.

I'd really hope we use what happened there in that match as a guide. As we paid little attention to what happened in Perth last year in our third innings!

If we do that it apparently indicates panic as we suddenly changed tact after one test. No research, bit of golf, ATTACK!

I completely get the need for team building and to reset the mind after the first test, but it really does rankle that they’ve decided to go for a round when they should’ve been playing a test match.

It just makes it look like cricket isn’t the priority.
