Spent a bit of time once with Vaughan.

He explained the preparation that had gone into the 2005 home ashes series. The goroundsmen at all the venues, the ball manufacturers, he even met with the Barmy Army telling them he wanted them to be right on it at Edgbason in the 2nd test as he fully expected to lose the 1st. Compare that level of professionalism & planning with this f***ing shower. It’s no wonder he’s slagging them off & fair play to him, he’s normally spot-on.

With age I've stopped being too arsed about Sunderland too in terms of results impacting. Used to make or break my week, then got it down to weekend, now it's been and gone within an hour of full time. Mind, I must admit I'm more arsed for the game next week than I have been for God knows how long. Which is odd really given most have said they don't see it as a derby anymore since the takeover.
