Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

What's the difference between the pink and the red ball, does the pink ball get more lateral movement?
More like a white ball than a red ball.

But moves a shit ton in the last session even more so when it's a new/newer ball. Aim is to be batting when the lights are off or if you are when the pink ball is 40 overs old.

Easy to bat against the pink ball in the day time, winning the toss and batting first is absolutely key.

Rain?

Then those with Day Three tickets might get to see a session
Two dayers are only possible if England perform so well with the ball again/Australia balls up with the bat again.

Given the positive spin always put on it when we do well people should remember the quick finish was only possible due to us doing very well (before doing very shit).

As Gichrist said, we had Australia in a position where they'd almost lost a test match after 4 sessions of cricket in their own backyard.
They will absolutely wallop us as standard because we are weak as fuck with the bat.
Seen someone defending Stokes/McCullers approach saying its not like we can say preparation should be done 'this way' as we've always got spanked over there

I know there’s a lot of joking about the golf thing me included but fuck me to go have a round when the test match was still due to be played is a bad look imo
It's their way of putting 2 fingers up to the criticism. Still no hint of apology to the thousands who travelled to support them
5 days of training for 2nd test

It's how they approach these sessions that is crucial.

Gilchrist reining it in a bit saying Australia weren't very good despite the way it ended, and only two players delivered. Said they should be worried that by lunch on day 2 they looked like the test had gone. Does acknowledge that whilst Starc isn't at his best he should cause problems, even with sensible batting, with the pink ball.

We don't. Attacking is a smokescreen for some. And if we do stay in any length of time the scoreboard gets a hammering quickly.

I agree with this - I think we lost the game rather than them winning it. They should have been absolutely out of the game before they even had to consider who would be opening.

Is the Best case scenario if we can't win the test, for there to be rain to force a draw, no injuries and for our out of form batters to either score plenty or score nothing to facilitate changes for the 3rd test.

If we get the 3 days of rain and Crawley gets out early twice then it would defy all common sense to continue with him for the 3rd test.

According to some podcasts, the expectation of Crawley is that he goes big in 3 innings across the series. He’s already got 2 ducks, but from what they’re saying he can have another 5, as long as he gets 3 100s🤣

Well if we're shit again at least the poor will get plenty of free hot dogs etc

So theoretically he could bat 10 times and get 7 ducks but that's OK.

What a f***ing attitude to have.🤷‍♂️
