Attendance Thread - Watford

Just take the segregation cover, now not being used in the South stand and put it between P24 & P25 (& make those Sunderland fans access seats via the entrance in the middle of P24) and low and behold you can open up P24 & P23 (another 400 odd tickets) - it's not rocket science.

And how do you then stop those fans mingling with the Watford fans on the concourse below?

There was many a game the lower bowl was virtually full when the support was high.

Depended on who we were playing.

The journey time from pretty much everywhere as well as us not exactly being a glamour club means we aren't a very attractive away day for most premier league teams.

So Liverpool and Man Utd would of course always sell out their end but a lot of clubs would barely sell half, often leaving the stadium looking like that.

Once you add segregation to an already half full away end it really did look awful a lot of the time.

I wish they would just put up some sort of perspex screen which would solve the missile problem and leave us with the best of both worlds.

It wouldn’t, we’d sell more of the tickets. Exactly like we used too when our support warranted it.

It would though because Watford haven't sold out, so there'd be empty seats, and the sunderland fans would only be allowed so far across before they'd need segregation of access tunnels, the concourse, turnstiles, toilets etc... You can't just jam 800 Watford fans into 800 seats and sell every other seat to home fans. They'd need full blocks left out, so maybe 1200 or 1400 seats for 800 away fans.

It makes a difference, why have us attacking an end with empty seats and scattered away fans when we can attack both ends all game with 100% sunderland fans behind them and to the sides with no away fans and no empty seats. It's defeatist. Stick the Watford fans up top out of the way and squeeze them into the blocks closest to the end of the north upper and keep selling the empty seats to our fans. Any empty seats in the ground should only be in the north upper

They seem to keep adding on a taking off that bugger zone in the south stand.

Quite a few 2s and a few 3s and 4s available in it again now!

People are far too concerned about how other people view us. Be a few hundred fans waited for pay day to buy a ticket and now can't get one but at least it looks better on TV.

Eh? The current configuration gives more, or the same , amount of tickets to home fans

How would having the away fans on the SS give us more home tickets ?

Most games this season. You’re counting one season out of the last 12 years. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

We have averaged 30k or so for the last 4 years. That leaves a small number of spaces around the bottom tier empty... compare that to massive missing gaps most games when they were in the south stand.

You're absolutely deluded about this moving fans crack. Thankfully the authorities have rejected them going into the south stand allegedly.

You wouldn't have the first 5 rows blocked off becuase of fans throwing stuff over the edge. Regardless of if the away team sell 20 or 2000 tickets.
