Add the “missing”away fans from the first game would take it to 38k. Factor in the sales on the day and we are likely to be within a thousand or so of last weeks game. Not bad at all.

I couldn't disagree anymore, especially when you take into account the cost of living and the increase of matchday tickets.
The first game back into the championship will always attract a bumper crowd.
Edit: Also Coventry brought a 1,000 more.

By the time kick off comes around tomorrow the attendance figure won’t be too far off the Coventry game.
QPR probably bringing a thousand fewer fans which will almost make the difference between the two games.

I know there are exceptions but generally it’s a more enjoyable experience when the lower bowl is full. Obviously it relies on the performance on the pitch mainly, but when in sync with a good crowd its class. I’m thinking v Everton, Chelsea, sheff wed in more recent times.
