Aston Villa planning complaint to Premier League

Makes for an interesting read.

Mags have had 9 more positive decisions than negative. More than twice as many than any other club. While most of the teams around them have had the odd one for or against
What is interesting is the amount of decisions overturned because the officials have incorrectly called against us in the 1st place. I’d like to see a list of incidents that Liverpool have got away with where VAR have just turned a blind eye or recommended a penalty review. VVD and Salah must be in double figures between them.

Where do you draw the line though? Right from being bairns, we were taught to play to the whistle.

We can't have situations where everyone just ignores the ref's whistle and keeps on playing until the ball goes dead, just in case there might be a goal later in the passage of play. It would be farcical.
I don’t know but that carry on was farcical and everyone watching around the world knew long before the referee

So don’t blow the whistle then.

With VAR present, refs are instructed to let the game carry on until the ball is dead. NOT to make the ball dead by blowing.

Nobody is claiming we shouldn’t play to the whistle but with VAR, we have the ability to bring the game back if an offence has been committed. Likewise, we can keep the ball live just in case the ref has made a mistake.

That's exactly what the post I was replying to WAS claiming!
Okay. Just read it. In this particular incident, it wouldn’t have made any difference but in many incidents, players will stop once they hear the whistle. I don’t think you could ever have a scenario where the ball becomes dead and VAR deemed that it becomes live again.

Rules state it can’t be used if the referee has blown his whistle.

Pretty dodgy of the ref to blow the whistle so quickly like, he won’t be in the premier league come start of next season.
This is where problems occur though. The referee has clearly made a massive error so surely it should be corrected? It’s laughable tbh
