25 wickets at Chelmsford today. I know it poured down all day yesterday but a warm, sunny day today. Northants are facing an innings defeat despite Essex only totalling 170. 81 all out and 23 for 5. It has to be a substandard pitch.

It didn’t rain in Chelmsford this weekend or on Monday.
 
It did. I was in Chelmsford town centre on Monday and we had to shelter from the rain. In the county hotel just up from the bus station. It was pelting down at times.

That’s odd. I was in Hylands Park all morning and went for a long lunch in Writtle. We ate outside! Not a drop.
