Are Forest a big club

Same here, not many English teams have done it, not even Manchester City with all the cash they have yet, possible they go back-to-back this season, but not many teams apart from the very best go back-to-back to win that trophy and Forest have.
It was easier* to win the European cup back then (not taking anything away from Forest's achievement, but there would have only been 4 or 5 top clubs in the competition, now there are probably 20 odd top teams in it.)

* for the champions of England.

True , but it was probably harder to enter the European cup back then because you had to win your league, none of this 2nd 3rd 4th crap

As someone who has lived in Nottingham and Warwickshire for a good few years they're not even the biggest club in the East Midlands let alone a big club. Villa are the biggest club in the Midlands followed by Leicester, Forest probably third.
Leicester winning the prem and FA Cup, while Forest were nowhere for 20+ years may have helped

Over time you tend to find your level, maybe punch above your weight for a few seasons or disappear downwards.
One expected disastrous flirtation in the Premiership, akin to Luton this year. Trust me the fun disappears after a while.

Stuck in League Two is no fun, one eye on the abyss and wilderness (it can happen) and our club should easily hold its own in League One with a dream of the Championship but no further.

For any Supporter of any Club it’s know your limits and rejoice any promotion or success as if it’s winning the Champions League.
After all we can’t always be a “big” club but an important one within our own right.
As for individual Supporter loyalty that is the choice we all have.

Man Utd
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea
City
Spurs
Everton
Villa
Leeds
Newcastle
Sunderland

Those are the proper big clubs obviously huge gaps in between some of those clubs

Then you have your other big clubs which ain’t quite as big as first list .
Forest
Wolves
West Ham
Wednesday
Leicester
etc etc probably a few more
Thought they would of had a new ground by now.
They are increasing capacity to 40k

Notts County fan at work (Nottingham) told me they’re getting 10k at home. There are loads of notts county fans living in Nottingham city boundaries.
isnt it that one half of hthe city-ie one side of the river trent-is notts county-the other side notss forest-but both within the city boundaries?

You seen West Hams home attendance lately?
I have indeed . Well supported club home and away , strong core fan base but their crowds now go against the norm for them. I still see them as a bit of a cult club . Growing up I never viewed West Ham as that big a club .

Notts county were the biggest club of the city for a bit . Forest were the working class club.

I hope you are speaking for yourself on that mate, Sunderland should be fighting for the Europa League when all is said and done, and that until the pots of cash arrive, is Sunderland's limit, along with winning a trophy in the next 25 years, and winning the championship title within the next 3 years, that, of course, would be our 6th time having won it 5 times previously.

thw est ham crpwds are bigger now because they have a stadium big enough to hold that many people..if they had a stadium that bg a decade ago or two decades ago they would have also got these crowds..its why attendance at games is a simplistic metric..more relevant is, are they selling all the seast they have regualrly...

Exactly; WHU never got particularly big crowds in the twentieth century before grounds, like Roker Park, had their capacities slashed. They might well have attracted bigger attendances from the 1990's on if they'd had a bigger stadium. The crowds they're getting now are strikingly big; it's the old "build it and they'll come" effect: or in their case "get the taxpayer to build it and we'll reap the benefits".
