Anyone watch films 'n' that on a projector screen at home?

Thinking about getting a projector to watch my films on a git wass screen. I’m confident that I have the right 4k projector picked out, but I’m concerned about the screen and what type to get.

Also, if I can get some value for money (with the screen), I can get some more UHD Blu Rays for Xmas!

I’ve seen all sorts of options online, including DIY but (what with many films changing their image ratio through the movie) I’m flummoxed as to how to get round this?

Surely, just getting a really smooth plastered finish on the wall and painting it matt white is the most cost-effective way?

I’m willing to be educated on this. Thanks in advance for any constructive advice.

I looked into this and the IKEA blackout blinds were getting rave reviews as a screen. From my limited knowledge you need to have a border for full effect as well, but as you say this would be an issue at different ratios.

You might want to consider whether you might add a speaker system in the future, a lot of screens now are made to allow sound to travel through them so you can put a speaker behind them

I've got one of these:
Panoview DE-9092EGA

It works well and only cost about £350 when I bought it 5 years ago. They have a non motorised version in John Lewis for about £100 at the moment.

You could get the plasterer to make a “little” hole in the wall that you could install a flesh-light into and it would come in handy or “hands free” if you manipulate the projector to fit the fillum you’re watching.

You’re welcome

With any telly your brain adjusts to it within three or four days and it just becomes the new normal.

So just watch a for a couple of days on a black and white portable and then go back to your colour HD telly and it will be amazing for a few days. Save yourself a load of dosh.

Mind, I'm not keen on action/special effects stuff so it would be wasted on me.

Actually any recommendations on projectors and a screen would be great as thinking of getting one for down the caravan for the bairns and their friends to have movie nights.

Very true sounds like you’re talking from experience, how about a screen and then project it on the rear (wayhey) you might need sunglasses.
Great idea. The OP is a massive perv so I reckon you have nailed it for him.

I might take it on dragons den. I know that VR porn is the future but look at the sales of vinyl
