Anyone else?

Resigned to losing Clarke but would rather have him than any amount of money.

Would cash in on anyone else, especially if it meant keeping Clarke.

Anyone else not excited by the thought of 40M + coming into the coffers in the summer from the sales of Clarke and Ballard?

Burnley built an unreal squad last season from money generated from player sales, spent around 35m in total and walked the league.

Heartbroken as the next fella but every cloud and that.
not excited about losing those players, and the club / owner keeping all the money.
why would we be excited about that? unless you're a mag?

I think a lot of people on here just don't like change. There's breakdowns whenever literally anyone is sold.

We're not going to compete with the current squad. The way I see it the only way we'll go up is if we reinvest the moneycompletely and spend big (and get it right).

I'm also very excited to actually see the ambition of the owner. If that money doesn't go straight back into the squad it's a sign to me not to bother anymore honestly.

Think they spent more than that - they brought in about twice as much in sales.
Cov spent about 35 mil -
Shows that there is life after selling stars - I thought cov would be nowt without gykores and hamer , but I think they have more points than at the same stage of the season.

I'm not confident at all in KS spending the money well - but then we have generally bought poorly all my life.

The same owners who put money in weekly to keep us afloat ?
Do you believe that? Where do you think the Ross Stewart money has gone? It’s all gone on balancing the books to prevent the need for the owners putting a penny in. KLD is more likely to remortgage the SOL than put sizeable amounts of his own money in

Someone will take a chance on Clarke for £10-£15m

Not so sure about Ballard
Didn't Lazio offer 15 mil in Jan and that was turned down?
Think he will go for 20 mil plus to a newly promoted team or someone like palace / Everton / forest

The owners put money into the club of course they do.
They might not put enough in for some - but over the last two seasons I don't think anyone has spent more on transfers than us in the championship (net).

Only if we could get Speakman out and a manager in who demands to have a big say in transfers.

Aye, really. £10m is nowt man.

It’s probably more than a lot of clubs spent in this league all summer. Speakman managed to find such gems as Mayenda, Burstow, Triantis, etc etc all of which have been as much good to the first team squad as the hole in the stadium roof.

Couldn’t have done much more !!!

Makes me wonder when he’ll be held to account. Mowbray was dismissed for his first poor run of form this season, Beale then gets the push after 12 games. Speakman has failed three transfer windows in a row …. who’s doing his appraisal ?

Might finally have the cash to fix the leaking ceilings on the west stand concourse
The toilets however might be too much

I don’t see that we need to sell Ballard tbh. Both him and Neil are on longer contracts, so we can keep for another season. I don’t think the clubs in for Ballard will be that enticing (Neil may be harder on this front). But more importantly - what’s the plan? Sign young players in and around £8m? Are these players going to want to come to us? Are they quality?

It doesn’t work for me. We need to sign a couple of more experiences 28 year olds in the £2-4m range. We don’t need £40m. £25m for Clarke - unavoidable - is enough to get the team ready for a proper push. Sign an experienced DM and striker for around £2m each and roll the dice on a couple of younger forwards for £6m each.

What experienced championship ready 28 year old striker are you expecting for £2m? Moore cost half that in loan fee for half a season?

The plan sounds decent but not sure what you’d get for that money.

Nashville - no, me either - just paid about £4m for Surridge from Notts Forest and Shankland - admittedly not Championship experienced - could be had at around £3.5m.

There will be older and cheaper options.

This board, perhaps adapting to the model, are always looking at either red hot (Hardie) or young (Cannon, Simms) options. Both inflate the price substantially.

Moore was a poor deal because Bournemouth were trying to force a permanent move. You could have got him
for around £4.5m proper I reckon. Trouble with him is he’s allegedly on proper Premier League wages.
