Looks promising especially since it seems to have the potential to recognise other members of the SARS family. If it works in humans it may be useful in future outbreaks. The cell work looks good. Never found ELISA positivity particularly convincing with monoclonals though it’s a decent first screen but if it has an effect on infected cells that’s a bit more convincing. Still a long way to go before it could be used.

I have hope, anything is possible, but better off being realistic at this point.
The antibody thing in particular should be do-able, but I expect plenty of false dawns.
